Cantoro's Italian Market - Livonia: Authentic Italian Marketplace and Dining Experience

One of the last remaining holdouts of the Italian American community in Metro Detroit. This place is awesome. Super old school. They have a multitude of products from the Patria. Guy behind the counter made me a delicious mortadella sandwich and spoke Italian back to me on my way out! Please protect this place at all costs.

Great place for Italian foods, not as big of a selection as their newer location but always has everything I am looking for.

I was so pleased to find a true Italian market filled with all the authentic groceries I love. It’s a real gem for Italian Americans and anyone who appreciates Italian culture and cuisine. I purchased Italian lunchmeat that was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious, sliced right at the deli counter—and they even offered a couple of complimentary slices to sample. I highly recommend Cantoro’s Italian Market!

Had a good experience stopping in for a quick lunch today. No pizza slices, but their “pizza breads” are delicious and full of cheese, sauce and pepperoni. Better value than some other bakery’s. Front service counter - very friendly service!

Searching for tasty snack to feed the less fortunate I stopped by Cantaro’s Italian market and boy was I in for the surprise of a lifetime that made my day spectacular. I was taken back by the sheer beauty and wide array of products. A plethora of fresh mouthwatering baked goods throughout the store, various stations with cheeses and delicious charcuterie, Halal options for the Muslim shopper like myself, a friendly and diverse staff, and aisle after aisle of delicious looking goods stacked neatly on each shelf. Mr. Eddie told me that this location is over fifty years old! Also that everything is guaranteed fresh and stocked daily. He was even so kind as to give me a vegetarian lasagna worth nearly $20 completely free of charge. I’m incredibly grateful to my maker, Allah The Most High, Most Glorified God That I was given the great idea to stop by Cantaro’s today. I highly recommend this place to everyone that loves Italian food especially with halal options. I am positive the poor and needy will love these treats! This store is a Jewell my friends first time. We stopped a few days ago we sampled the prosciutto and the service was great it helped my friend out of her comfort zone. By the time we left we were smiling and happily filled with flavorful samples, she is a believer in Italian cuisine now. The daily baked breads are wonderful. I purchased the cannelloni stuffed shells they were delicious. I also love the fresh mozzarella cheese balls and they pre-made ready to eat sandwiches for on the go! I originally stopped for fennel sausage, however I had to wait another day they were in process of making some more. I left with spicy and mild sausage. We had spaghetti with both it was Amazing. I returned for the fennel sausage yesterday I am looking forward to eating. My friend stopped also for a Pizza ready to bake! She picked up bread the first time I couldn't resist it the second time we stopped. Cantoro Italian Groceries has another location I hope to visit soon.

This is the best Italian market I have ever been to. The people here are so nice and always help you when deciding what to get. They have the best selection of meats and cheeses, the frozen pre made meals here are amazing. I highly recommend stopping in!
